Just a quick line to let you all know I will not be posting for a few days as we have had some very bad news. My Daughters best friend passed away on Monday morning possibly due to food poisoning, my Daughter herself has also been very ill with food poisoning so I have been looking after her. There is also an investigation going on so my blog is taking a back seat for a while it all gets sorted out.

Just wanted to let you all know that I will be back soon.........take care

Monday, 24 February 2014

Sorry the posts have been rather sparse the past couple of days but as many of you know I was doing my Nieces wedding flowers as she got married on Friday. Unfortunately my back went pop last Wednesday whilst hoovering the stairs. It has been.... shall I call it fun? trying to do the flowers but I got there in the in end.

When I went to the Osteopath he told me not to sit only lie or stand, this was an almost impossible and painful task at the wedding. So for the next couple of days posts will be a little sparse still until I get my new lead for my laptop, it should be here soon.
Must go as its far to painful sitting at an actually computer whilst writing this. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend

Wedding flowers

As many of you already know I used to be a florist and occasionally I still do Weddings.
This time its my Niece who is getting married.

So I though I would give you a few sneaky before photos.

Her colour scheme is red and cream .....obviously.....he.....he....

She has a very laid back nature and all she said she wanted was red Gerbera, she gave my a photo and that was about it.

The bridesmaid are in red so she is going for cream bouquets for them.
The only thing I'm missing in this photo is the cream gerbera
which my flower man is dropping of later

I will put a post up next week to show you what I created.

Right I best be lots to do........

Floral nails

My first attempt at a floral pattern, it looks a lot better off camera honestly .....he.....he..... I think the flowers need to be smaller.

I've never tried Seche polish before and I must say I do like the application. After just one coat the colour was fantastic, not too keen on the brush though, I prefer a fatter brush.

So I would like to thank my sons girlfriend for this kind donation as she didn't want it as she has a similar colour in her collection. Thank you Danni x

My first Blogversary

Today is my first year blog anniversary

I cant believe it is exactly a year since my first ever post
It has gone SO quickly

Looking back at my first ever post it feels quite weird reading it. I feel I have grown quite a bit since then. I remember being very nervous about what I wrote, thinking would people think I'm an idiot?!?! It used to take me a quite a while to write a post, I used to change it quite a lot. But being a blogger you have to be yourself and write as you.....from the heart and how you would say it in your head. As many of you know, nowadays I just ramble on with whatever pops into my head....he.....he....but joking aside I have really enjoyed this year sharing all my thoughts and spending sprees with you all. And of course coming across so many lovely genuine like minded people who enjoy the same things as me.

A couple of weeks ago I set myself a goal, I wanted to reach 50 followers on Bloglovin' before my first Blogversary........and thanks to all you lovely lovely people I did it.

So I shall be raising my glass this evening to each and everyone of you
for all the support and comments you have giving me over the last year.

and thanks again for everything
Here's to the next 10 years :)

Happy valentines day everyone

NOTD.....Pink glitter tips

This what I used

I love the colour of this Essie polish its definately one of my faves. This is my first Seventeen polish though, love a bit of glitter. This picture dosent do this glitter much justice its a very pretty sparky glitter it looks quite dark on here. The aim was to have it dripping down from the tips but it was quite think and I think I was a little too heavy handed. I will have to try a smaller brush next time. The though behind this was as glitters are such a pain in the ass to get off that putting it on the tips it wouldnt chip as quickly...........fingers crossed.

Pre Frugal February Buys

This month I am going to be supporting Avril from School gate style
on Frugal February (trying my hardest to anyway....he....he...)

So I thought I would show you these couple of things I picked up the other day before I officially start.
I had to get the Revlon lacquer balm before February started as this may of broke me ......he....he..... I've been after it since I heard about it a while back. And if I'm honest, now I have it, I don't know that I'm all that struck on it.

Here it is

I got it in the shade Demure and although I love the colour its very glittery, one of those lipsticks that when the colour has gone of your lips your just left with the glitter. I think I should of gone for the Matte version instead. I bought the L'Oréal glamshine balm the other week maybe I will do a comparison review on them soon.

I also got this which was on my "what i would like this year" list

I got it in the shade light, so far so good with this,
will have to use it a bit longer to form more of an opinion on it.

Well those were my sneaky purchases before February starts. I think I'm going to find this quite hard not buying anything but I'm determined to do it. Sometimes when I go shopping and I don't see anything I like or want I end up buying just anything because I cant go home without nothing. That's probably why I have so many nail polishes....he....he.... So this month will do me good. I will have to go to the gym more instead of shopping (that's if my knees stop playing up!!!) Ooooo the joys of getting older (well in body anyway).

So if any of you fancy joining in on Frugal February or any other of her challenges
go and check out Avril (HERE)
