I braved it

I bought these boots after seeing the lovely Anne's from Heart and Soul
(You should definitely check her out)

She inspired me to go for it.

I owned nothing leopard print and I must say I was a little nervous about wearing it
but after seeing hers I had total boot envy.

I ended up getting them off eBay in the end, they only cost me £13.00 in total
When they arrived my son asked me "What the hell are those"
and then asked me if I had lost my mind....he.....he....

They are not as stylish as Anne's but I do like them, just a little nervous about when to wear them.
I think they will be making appearances on nights out.

Me & My Hair

I thought I would do a little post on how I do my hair
Here goes.......

First off my hair is very thick and dry with quite a bit of curl in it now, the older I get the curlier it gets.
These are the products I use every time I do my hair, I just love them they suit my hair so much.
  1. John Freida brilliant brunette shampoo and conditioner, these make my hair shine so much.
  2. Dove Hair Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Spray, this helps to keep my dry hair more tame.
  3. TRESemme Liquid Gold Argan Oil Infused Perfecting Hair Treatment, I don't like any other TRESemme products apart from this one, I use it on the ends of my hair to nourish them as these are what suffer first.
  4. Got2b guardian angel , OMG I adore the smell of this stuff, its a great little heat protectant it doesn't leave my hair sticky like a lot of them do.
I also used this, I actually bought it for my Mother as she has very fine hair, but I thought I would give it a quick go before I use it on her ....he....he...

I just used a little around my crown just to try and give it a little volume. I cant say that it made that much difference to be honest, its probably because my layers are long so the weight of them weigh my crown down.

This is what I do: -
  1. This is my frizzy bouffant after is washed and dried. I have to use a brush on the front section as I have a very annoying kink in my fringe.
  2. I use the BaByliss Glamour Styling Tong, I love this tong its got a 38mm barrel and it doesn't take long to curl at all.
  3. I start by roughly parting my hair at the back and I use a clip to hold it apart.
  4. Then starting at the back I start to curl random pieces working my way towards the front.
  5. I start to curl from the center leaving the ends out and I just add these before I release the barrel. I also change the direction of the curl occasionally so they're not all going the same way.
  6. I then do the exact same on the other side.

  1. This what the back looks like when I've done both sides. I than spray it with a touch of light hairspray to help hold the curl and I leave it to cool.
  2. After 10 minutes or so I then run my fingers gently through the underneath to gently break up the curl.

This what it looks like when finished.

  1. The back
  2. And obviously the front....he.....he.....

I love my hair like this the curls last all day.
Hope you enjoyed reading this (sort of) tutorial, I enjoyed making it.

What I would like this year

  1. Sleek face contour kit £6.49 I've wanted this for some time now I'm just unsure whether to get it in Light or Medium.
  2. MAC lipstick £15.00 Well I must be one of a very few women in the world who do not own a MAC lipstick.....WHAT! I hear you say, yep that's right I don't have a single one. I'm looking for a nice nude (of course, it had to be:) ) So any recommendations would be much appreciated.
  3. Oasis coat £110.00 I love this coat it looks so warm. I've been after one for a few months now this would be perfect for long walks with the dog.
  4. Superfacialist Rose miracle makeover facial oil £14.99 A bit of a mouthful....he...he.... Its supposed to be good for dehydrated sensitive skin and I've certainly got both of those so its just screaming to get on my face.
  5. BaByliss New Big Hair £44.99 Of course I couldn't leave this out as I didn't get it last year.

I have tried to be realistic with what I would like, I think most of them are doable just maybe not the coat unless it appears in the sale by which time the weather will probably be getting better, so we will have to wait and see on that one!

Obviously I will have to wait till after Frugal February which I'm attempting to do with the lovely Avril from schoolgatestyle go and check out her blog and join her on one of her monthly quests or even all of them if you have more will power than me....he....he.....

Saturday Spa

This weekend I took this little girlie to the groomers, she was well overdue for a trim.

The groomers I use is called Happy Tails Dog Spa in Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

The place is fantastic, its actually a unit that shes converted into a dog spa and its run by the lovely Amy. She is such a great person, she is absolutely amazing with the dogs. You can also if you choose to you can stay with your dog whilst they are being groomed. I've never been to a groomers where you can actually stay, which is great if you have a nervous dog like mine. She groom one dog at a time so its very one on one attention the dog receives. Liluu did enjoy having her blueberry face pack....he.....he.....shes such a girlie!!

Liluu was very nervous wherever I have taken her in the past but she is so much more at easy here. Amy makes the dog feel so comfortable and welcome, shes a bit like a dog whisperer.....he....he.... she is also unbelievable with a pair of scissors!!!!
Liluu has had the best haircuts ever since I have been going here, believe me shes had some terrible ones in the past from other places. I've had such a hard time to find a good groomer as there are so many terrible ones out there, thank god we found Happy Tails

So if you live near Bridgnorth and need a groomer you should definitely check her out, shes the absolute best!!!!

Whilst Liluu was having her pamper we took a walk around Bridgnorth itself. Its a nice little old town, it has a High town and a Low town as its on a hill. We had breakfast there and had a little browse around the little shops. And of course I ended up in Superdrug (what a surprise) I just cant walk past can I!!!

I actually wanted to try the sleek contour kit but they didn't have it so ended up with these instead

I got the shade Sin for Peach

I actually wanted the Revlon colourburst balm but they didn't have any in there at all
so |I got this instead.

Of course I had to have the white as well....he....he....

I've never tried any MUA before so I thought I would give it a go. I got the shade
English rose

(Sorry about the quality of the photos it was such a drab afternoon yesterday when I took the pictures)

Well at least I'm getting all my shopping urges out of the way for February.....he......he......

NOTD...... Leopard style

I finally got round to trying to do leopard print on my nails
Not bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself....he....he...

These are what I used
Ciate mini ........ Shooting stars

I also got around to changing my toes that were still Christmas colours
Not as good as an attempt as my fingers though
(Sorry if my toes offend anyone, I know some people are a bit squeamish about feet)

I used

Think I need a lot more practice....especially on the old toes

Also can anyone recommend a good cuticle oil?
My cuticles are terrible

Non shopping shopping

Well I did rubbish with my non shopping January
Here a few things I ended up buying

H & M jumper £14.99

Black and white dress £24.99

I only went into H & M to get some leggings!!!

Then into Primark where I picked these up
White blouse reduced to £5.00                                        Patterned top £4.00

I bought the white blouse just for its collar, thought it would look good under jumpers

And no shopping trip is complete for me unless there are at lease one scarf in there

                                                    Reduced to £3.00           £4.00

Then off to boots (as per usual)

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara £4.99
Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish (Little bo peep) £3.69

That was about it for my little trip
Even though I haven't spent that much
I'm DEFINITELY going to have a "non shopping" February

New goals.....

I'm not a lover of new year resolutions, 99% of them fall at the first hurdle with me. Plus I don't like doing all that "giving up" malarkey it never works! your brain craves it even more if you tell yourself you can have it so you set yourself up for a fall immediately.
Instead I like to set myself a few realistic (well most of them) goals.
These are the ones I'm going for this year..............

  1. Try and eat a salad everyday! This shouldn't prove to hard as I ADORE salad, at the moment I would say I eat one at least every other day.
  2. After over indulging far to much this Christmas I could do with losing a little weight so my aim is try and lose a few pounds. I am starting today with a totally detox day to clear out my system and give my metabolism a kick start. I know this is probably on everyone's list every year but I've got to keep giving it a go.....he....he.....
  3. Try and do more OOTD I am SO rubbish at them, I always think about it way later in the day when I'm looking a bit worse for wear.
  4. Wash my make up brushes more regularly, I really don't wash them as often as I should.
  5. Give blood more often, I've skipped a couple the last couple of years.
  6. Give more to charity.......first stop wardrobe clear out!!

So that's about it for my goals, I know they aren't much in the way of goals (quite pathetic really) but we all have to start somewhere....he....he....

What are your goals/resolutions this year?

Happy New Year...........

Happy new year

Just a very quick post to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

I had a fantastic break (although very hectic) with all my family and friends, everything's so quite now its all back to normal. Although I will be glad all the eating and drinking has stopped, I have indulged far too for the annual January detox!!

Sorry for the lack of posts over the Christmas break (bad blogger that I am) but like I said its been rather hectic here. Normal postings will resume as of Monday as I have just had to drop my Mother of at the hospital as she is having the tip of her finger amputated (nice start to the new year for her!!) so I will be looking after her for a few days.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year
Wonder what 2014 has in store???
