My nail polish storage solution

I have been after some sort of storage solution for my nail polishes on for quite sometime now. I did have them all in a big box, randomly strewn in but it was a pain looking for certain colours and sometimes if I didn't put the lid on tight enough they would leak a little and go everywhere.
So this is the solution I have come up with

I initially put them grouped into colours                   But then changed in into brands

I had to change them as I couldn't cope with them being different sizes etc it just looked so messy, the only advantage was I could see what colours I have.

Rimmel and Bourjois packaging mess slightly with my OCD head....he....he.... why do they have to have different styles of packaging? Think I may have to stick to Essie, Barry M and OPI neat packaging instead....he...he....

Anyway the shelves are made out of plastic angle strip from B & Q apparently its used to cover corners it was £3.38 for a 7 foot strip, I just used a hack saw to cut them to length them screw them in place. and hey presto. I'm quite please with the overall result, I just need to go shopping and get more polishes......

Venturing out

As I said in my previous post I haven't been very well the past week but today I actually ventured out. Not very far mind you and not anywhere very exciting either, only to Tesco to get some milk.

But whilst in there I ended up picking this up as I've heard so much about it and I thought I would give it a go. I usually go high end on foundation as I like to have a good base but I thought as this one has had so many great reviews I would see for myself what all the fuss is about. I got it in (100) Ivory its probably just a little bit too pale for me but I can just about get away with it at this time of year.

Rimmel Wake me up Foundation £5.00
Will keep you posted how it goes.

Also whilst in Tesco I ventured into the Christmas section and ended up picking these up, not that I actually need anymore Christmas lights it was just the fact that I thought they looked cute and they were only £6.00.
Berry lights
Don't know where I'm going to put them!!!!

I also got these
Mini crackers

I thought these would be good to crack open on Christmas eve as I have quite a few family staying over for Christmas this year and it solves the whose glass is whose problem and adds a bit fun to our Christmas eve festivities. They were £4.00

That's about it for my ever so small and quite mundane shopping trip...he...he... I'm hopefully going proper shopping on Wednesday (I cant wait!!! I have been going a little bit stir crazy being stuck in doors!!!) So hopefully normal service will resume soon, apologies for the poor (and somewhat sparse) postings over the past week or so.

Snuggely PJ's

I'm not feeling very well today so not much from me for today I'm afraid

I'm sat in bed with my laptop trying to do a bit of Christmas shopping but its all going wrong and somehow I've ended up on Next's website looking at PJ's (like you do!)

Its so cold outside and these look so snuggely. I wouldn't say no if anyone wanted to buy me these for Christmas....he....he....

This is really cute as well

Mind you this one will probably bury me as they are usually SO long in the legs, I do have problems with PJ's with only being 5 ft 4".

Right think I need a nice cup of tea and maybe a Harry Potter film to make me feel better.

Weekend in Wales

This weekend was fantastic.
This was the view we woke up to every morning.

We spent it with family and friends celebrating an 18th birthday.

We all stayed in an a converted chapel in Wales in a little place called Maentwrog

We have stayed there before but keep going back as its a half way point between us and our friends. Also the space inside is great for us all. You can check it out here, the photos do not do this place justice. It is a truly lovely place.

The views are to die for...

The surrounding area is also stunning. especially this time of the year.
I just love autumn and its colours.

Cant wait to go back....very soon hopefully

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends as much as I did

NOTD.....Sinful, Rise & Shine

I bought this nail polish last month and which claims to be a matte polish.

Sinful matte nail polish in Rise & Shine £1.99

Its not actually very matte at all.

It has tiny little specs of gold in it that give it a shimmer. I had to look at the bottle again just to check it actually says matte on it and it wasn't me going mad........ it does say it in very small writing.
If it is a matte why put tiny specks of shimmer in it? maybe the name should of give me a hint "rise & shine"
Its a lovely colour just a little disappointing when you purchase it as matte and it clearly isn't.
I don't think I will purchasing anymore colours from this range even though they are only £1.99 I suppose you get what you pay for.

Has anyone else tried any shades from their "matte" range?

Sorry for the amount of times "matte" was mentioned....he....he....couldn't be avoided really

Maybelline The rocket volume express mascara review

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara £7.99

I bought this a couple of months ago as a replacement for Max factors wild volume mascara (which I did not like at all, review here).

I usually go for L'Oreals million lashes but I spotted this one instead and thought I would give it go. I just cant give up trying with different mascaras even though I regret it most of the time.

I have used quite a few Maybelline mascaras in the past and always got on quite well with them so as this one had a plastic brush (which I prefer as it gives me more root lift with my pathetic lashes) I decided to give it a go. I must say I have very rarely been let down regarding mascaras from Maybelline, unlike their lip products that I don't get on with at all.

I really like this mascara it lengthens my lashes plus its £3.00 cheaper than the L'Oreal.

I also slightly prefer the brush on this compared to the L'Oreal as its a little smaller which is great for me as I don't have very big eyes.

I wouldn't say that it adds that much volume though but I can live with that.

Would I re purchase this?

Yes I think I would I like Maybelline mascara range

What are your favorite mascaras?

Wardrobe update

So far so good, it is almost there, just a few touches to finish.

If you want to see what it looked like before click here

Its been a bit of an on/off project to be honest as I have been busy decorating my hall, stairs and landing at the same time.
I really do need to try and just do one project at a time instead I start something and if I have to wait for something to dry I start doing something else and then get carried away with that.
So today I am going to finish the wardrobe, will pop it in a quick post when its finished.
Then finish the hall and then I can start to decorate my bedroom

 A woman's work is never done.....he....he....

Niece shopping trip

Whilst I was shopping last week with my niece I picked up these few bits even though I went out with the intention of buying nothing as I didn't need anything.
But I think this is an impossible feat for me!!!

I ended up getting......from Boots

Essie nail polish in Pink Diamond £7.99, just couldn't resist, its such a pretty pink. I'm a sucker for pink and Essie polishes.

I also got the Real techniques complexion sponge £5.99 as I love their brushes so much I thought I would give this a try.

We spent quite a while in Primark

I restrained myself but I did end up picking up this jumper in black, I already have two of these n different colours but they are so comfy and easy to wear and only £5.00

I wore it Saturday night when we went out for a meal

So that was about it for my "I dont need anything" shopping trip
