Back soon

Just wanted to let you all know I WILL be coming back very very soon. I am currently in the planning stage of a blog re-vamp. After my last blog post I have done a lot of thinking and decided I need my Blog, I need you lot!! I have missed it all so much, my work has taken over for the past year or more but its now time to make more time for me and my blog again................

I'm  hoping it shouldn't take to long to get things up and running but I am going the whole hog with a complete name change as well. I have to really as I will be 48 very soon and fabulousso 40s will no longer apply so a complete change is on the cards. If you have any name suggestions please feel free to comment below as any ideas very welcome. I am planning on focusing predominately on beauty for the over 40s as I feel us more mature girlies need it. There are so many beautiful young bloggers out there who don't get me wrong I admire and envy enormously but our more mature skin needs that little bit more TLC . Unfortunately most of us cannot use the make up we used 20 years ago. So my aim is to hunt down the best products to see us through the next couple of decades

So remember any names suggestions welcome or anything else content wise you would like to see please comment

See you all very very soon

Shall I go or shall I stay?

Decisions.......decisions......decisions....... !!!!

My last post was in August!! How bad is that!

I am contemplating packing in blogging all together. I have been an extremely bad blogger, although I cant actually call myself a blogger at the moment as I haven't posted for SO long.

I have just been so busy with work I just haven't had the time like I had before. I started off working part time then it escalated to pretty much full time but recently my hours have gone back down a little again.

I do love blogging and have missed it immensely, so at the moment I am in a massive quandary.

Shall I stay or shall I go?

I have been asking myself these questions over the past couple of weeks.
Do people really want to read my quite menial little posts?
Do people really want to read a beauty blog from a 47 year old woman? (yep 47 now...... the years fly!!!)
Are people bored of my shopping posts?

I really am stuck with what to do.

Do I give it another go
do I walk away from it all?

What do you guys think I should do?

Mini make up haul

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 15 Year Collection £6.49

I went for the shade 56 Boho nude. I do love the formula of these lipsticks, they're so creamy and moisturising!

NYX Intense Butter Gloss £5.50

Yep...... another nude shade, Tre Leches!! I love  the original NYX butter gloss so I though I would give the intense version a try. Will let you know how it goes. I may do an updates nude lipstick/gloss post soon

NYX Dark circle concealer £6.50

Whilst at the NYX counter I spotted this, I have suffered with dark circles the majority of my life. As they are hereditary I know I will never get rid of them but anything that will help cover them is always a bonus. Will be interesting to see how it compares to my Benefit erase paste. This shade is light.

Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil £2.99

Another edition to my ever increasing brow products. I quite like the lighter colour of this for daytime and a bargain at £2.99

Primark mini blenders £1.00

I picked these up when I couldn't get hold of the latest Real Technique ones at my local Boots. They worth a try for the price

That's it for now shopping wise. I need to get my blogging brain in to gear and get some reviews up and running. Hopefully I will get time with Bank Holiday weekend looming

It's been a long long time since I last did one of these. Oh how I have missed them :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone

Shopping again!

LOreal Infallible Sexy Balm £4.99
I got the shade 103 As If. This is my new fave lipglosss/balm. Its just perfect for work. This shade is just perfect for lips for that "my lips but better" colour. Its not sticky either. I may have to invest in a few more shades

I prefer the clear gel just to tame my brows. I would rather colour them with pencil or powder and just use this to set. I'm not a fan of the colour versions of this

Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser £5.99
I bought this a stop gap as I couldn't get to Boots to get my usual Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser. It was worth a try especially at the price. Lets just say I wont be purchasing this again. I did not rate it one little bit, nor did I like the cloth that came with it. I will be sticking to my Liz Earle from now on

Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel £5.99
It was buy one get one free in Superdrug so I picked this up. This will also NOT be repurchased! Didn't really see any benefits from this whatsoever! But it was free so was worth a try. You definitely get what you pay for regarding skincare

A couple of random sale items from Dotty P's

Sorry (again) it's been quiet a while since my last post. I just don't seem to get 5 minutes anymore to blog. I know I have said this quite a few times lately but I am definitely going to try my very hardest to get back on the blogging wagon :)

Disappointing products!!

Just a few disappointing products I have come across recently

Maybelline Master sculpt £6.99

I was not impressed with this in the slightest! I bought the light/medium shade as I am quite pale naturally, I wasn't expecting it to be quite so pale though. This wasn't the actually problem with this product, it was the highlighter far to glittery for my liking! On younger skin it would probably work just fine but its a definite no no for my ageing skin

Revolution Palette Essential Mattes £4.00

Great colours, staying power VERY disappointing but ultimately played havoc with my sensitive eyes. Only used a couple of times. I suppose you get what you pay for!

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara £4.99

A very well liked product in the beauty world but I'm honestly not a fan at all, I cannot see the hype around this product. I hated the way it left my brows feeling almost crispy

Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer £6.99

I do love a good primer and this for me isnt one of those! I used this on holiday hoping it would keep my foundation from sliding of my face but unfortunately it didn't hold up in the heat. I also couldn't stand how it felt on my skin it was very thick almost glue like, making my face feel very sticky and horrible

NIVEA Micellar Water £3.99

I gave this try as it was on offer at the time. I wont be purchasing this again. I took an age to get my eye make up off with it. I will just stick to my Garnier version from now on

Skinova Acropass hyaluronic patch review & giveaway

I was recently asked if I would like to try out these hyaluronic patches*. As many of you know I am a massive fan of anything hyaluronic, so as soon as this word was mentioned they had my full attention.

For any one that doesn't know how Hyaluronic acid works......
Hyaluronic acid is a  natural component of the skin and is involved in tissue repair and hydration. It can retain 1000 times its own weight in water. Youthful skin maintains is luminosity due to the high water content.

The kit contains four patches, these patches are designed to go under the eye area. Here is how it all works.

Using cutting edge patented technology TDN patches are formed using Droplet –born air blowing. These form perfectly shaped pointed microstructures that act as miniature needles that can penetrate the Epidermis.
Each structure is ¼ the thickness of a human hair so are pain free when applied into the skin. Each structure contains dissolvable hyaluronic acid and Epidermal Growth Factor with pass through the skin barrier and dissolve inside to provide hydration, plumping and rejuvenation effects. An added benefit is the needling effect achieved in a way similar to microneedling but without discomfort or side effects. This can help stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, to promote healthy, younger looking skin and I'm definitely all for that!!

Apply the patches twice per week for four weeks and once per week thereafter for maintenance. The microstructures are fully absorbed after two hours and can be used at any time of the day but most people prefer night time use for convenience. I used them once at night but I preferred to wear them on an evening and take them off just before bed.

How to use

The process is completely pain free and safe. After use you simply peel off the patch with no visible signs on the skin other that a natural plumpness in the treated area with lines and wrinkles smoothed out.

I have definitely notice a difference under my eyes they are so much more hydrated than previously and a lot more plump shall we say. I don't seem to have as much puffing/bags under my eyes as I did previously. If you have ageing/dry/sensitive skin just like me and your eyes need a boost these are definitely worth a try!!!

If you fancy giving the patches a try why not enter below for a chance to win, the competition runs until 6th June. Good luck everyone
